• Math - turned in Lesson 78 - today's topic was Finding Equivalent Fractions by Multiplying by One - homework is: Lesson 79 (due tomorrow)
• Science with Mrs. Nelson (first day)
• Journals - red journals were due today: every student is expected to write a journal entry for each school day.
• Spelling - students were given a new spelling list today they were expected to sort the list with teacher guidance, and cut out the spelling words.
• Writing - The Direct Writing Assessment will be February 22nd for our class.  This week we will be reviewing all of the things we have learned about writing a great persuasive essay.  Today we discussed the topic sentence and three reasons.
• Reading - Students reading Phoebe the Spy read with me today.  All other students read a short story while leaving tracks of their thinking, and then read a book of their own choice, and left tracks of their thinking - due today. This assignment is part of their Independent Work grade.
• English - turned in Worksheet 3 Comparing with Adjectives - today's topic was Comparing with Good and Bad - we are reviewing the unit with a worksheet for each lesson before the unit test. homework is: Worksheet 4 Comparing with Good and Bad - the writing application is extra credit - due tomorrow.
• Social Studies - Students wrote the 3rd standard and took notes on the Magna Carta.
