Wednesday - 2/15/12

• Math -  turned in Lesson 83 - today's topic was Mean, Median, Mode, and Range - homework is: Lesson 84 (due tomorrow) 
• Science with Mrs. Nelson
• Journals - yellow journals were due today: every student is expected to write a journal entry for each school day.
• Spelling - students were expected to sort the spelling words, write the rule, and six sentences using two spelling words per sentence.  All students finished the assignment in class.
• Writing - The Direct Writing Assessment will be February 22nd for our class.  Many students finished writing their journal essay.  (due tomorrow)
• Reading - Students reading Drylongso read with me today.  All other students read a short story while leaving tracks of their thinking, and then read a book of their own choice, and left tracks of their thinking - due today. This assignment is part of their Independent Work grade.
• English - We started Unit 5 today. Today's topic was Correct Sentences.  homework is: English page 180-181 (1-14) - due tomorrow. 
• Citizenship-   We read a book called How to Hug a Porcupine and talked about working on being friends to others that are "prickly."
