• Math - turned in Lesson 80 - Students took a test today.
• Science with Mrs. Nelson
• Journals - yellow journals were due today: every student is expected to write a journal entry for each school day.
• Spelling - speed sort.
• Writing - The Direct Writing Assessment will be February 22nd for our class.  This week we will be reviewing all of the things we have learned about writing a great persuasive essay.  Today we discussed the topic sentence.
• Reading - Students reading The Tiger Rising read with me today, and we finished our book.  All other students read a short story while leaving tracks of their thinking, and then read a book of their own choice, and left tracks of their thinking - due today. This assignment is part of their Independent Work grade.
• English - turned in Worksheet 5 Proper Adjectives - Today we played a game to review Unit 4 Adjectives.  Tomorrow or Friday we will have the Unit test. Test tomorrow or Friday. 
• Social Studies - We began rewriting the Preamble to the Constitution in a way that makes sense to kids in fifth grade.
